Good — that's exactly who the free half hour is for. Here's what you're walking into.
The short version
A real seat, a real wheel, a real track
You sit in a fixed racing seat. The wheel is direct-drive — a motor pushes back against your hands with the forces the front tyres would actually generate. The pedals need real pressure, not a light press.
On screen is a laser-scanned version of a real circuit, accurate down to the bumps and kerbs. The car understeers when you ask too much of the front and steps out if you're greedy with the throttle, because that's what that car does.
No coins, no arcade physics, no lap counter shouting at you.
What to expect
Your first ten minutes
You'll spin
Usually in the first three laps. Everyone does. The wheel is telling you things you're not used to listening to yet.
It clicks
Around lap five your hands start working with the wheel instead of fighting it.
You want another go
Which is the usual outcome, and why the first thirty minutes cost nothing.

First-timer questions
Is it like a video game?
It shares the screen and not much else. The wheel pushes back with real force, the pedals need real pressure. People who are quick at racing games are often slow the first time.
Will I get motion sick?
Most people don't. It's a screen rather than VR, and you're the one controlling the movement, which is usually what prevents it. Say something if you feel off and we'll stop.
Do I need to drive a manual?
No. Paddle shift or automatic, whichever you're comfortable with.
How slow will I be?
Slow. Everyone is at first. Thirty minutes is enough to stop being slow in the obvious ways.
Does it help with real driving?
For circuit driving, yes. Track layout, braking points and reference markers transfer directly — it's why racing drivers use simulators.
